Scott and I decided it would be fun to have a Free Wednesday for our clients. Every few weeks we will list an item or service that is free to the first person who contacts us.

2011 Beck's Christmas Extravaganza!

What an awesome time Scott and I had again this year photographing the Beck's Christmas Extravaganza. This year it was held at the new JW Mariott, which I must say, is a very nice hotel.

The decorations were wonderful again this year, the live Christmas trees just put everyone in a holiday mood. The old fashioned sleigh was a huge hit with the guests as well!

Thanks again to Beck's for asking us to photograph the event again this year, we love working with them.

Scott would never do it, so I'm going to brag on him a little bit! :) We just recently attended our annual Indiana Professional Photographers Guild fall convention in Brown County. It is a great three days of learning, chatting with old friends and portrait competition.

Professional photographers select and enter prints which are scored by three judges. I am so proud to say that Scott received first place for the highest scoring print case! It takes six images to make up a print case and Scott's images scored the highest among all entries! He also received first place for the highest scoring Senior folio and first place for the highest scoring Children's folio!

I am so proud of him!!!

Abram!

We had tons of fun photographing Abram and his older brother Cambrion the other day. The session was Abram's 2 year session and his parents asked for a few images with Cambrion in them as well. They both did wonderfully again! We have had the pleasure of photographing each of them from the time they were newborns.

Beck's Field Days 2011!!

We had a great time at the Beck's Field Days again this year!

It is always three days of fun and packed with people. We decided to go with a boat dock theme this year and everybody just loved it! In the space of three days, Scott photographed more than 200 families. Wow, was he hopping!

The weather was gorgeous again this year but very hot. Luckily it was much cooler in the buildings.

Back to School Event!!

This coming Saturday, August 20th, we will be at the Markland Mall for their awesome Back to School Event!!

This is a 3 hour Back to School event from noon until 3pm.

They will have Indiana Ice, Boomer,the Indiana Pacers mascot and Freddy Fever, the Indiana Fever mascot as well as Briane January, a Fever player in center court.

Shoppers are given a punchcard to take to participating retailers. When shoppers return the filled punchcard, they will receive a lunch bag filled with school supplies and 15 of those bags will have various prizes in them ranging from $10.00 to $75.00.

Becky Seamser Dance studio will also be there to entertain with a few of their dance routines.

Old Negatives Available

When we purchased the studio from Russ he left lots and lots of boxes with negatives from family and senior sessions. He sent out a letter at that time releasing his copyright to the images and offering them for pickup.

We have kept all the negatives for over 5 years and are sad to say we have run out of room to store all the many boxes. We would like to offer again to anyone who had their family or senior sessions taken by Russ the ability to pick up your negatives from those sessions.

We have family sessions from 1994 and senior sessions from the graduating year of 1994. Please give us a call if you would like to pick up your negatives and we will be happy to pull them for you. We will only be keeping the negatives for two more weeks and then they will be destroyed.

The Story...of Hope continued

So I wanted to give you an update on the very sick little kitty I blogged about several weeks ago. I am so happy to say, we finally got her fever to break! :) After several trips to our wonderful local vet and tons of antibiotics, Hope is healthy!

Her back leg has healed, no more limp and her front elbows are completely healed. She was so sick the vet was actually surprised she made it past the first night. Hope now weighs in at a whopping 7 pounds! Quite an improvement from the 4 pounds she weighed when we first took her to the vet. She commented on how much of a fighter Hope is. Our cat Jasmine is finding that out first hand. LOL

Hope loves people but does not like other cats. Jazz seems to take immense delight in getting as close to Hope as she can before Hope has had enough and lets Jazz know it. No physical fights only verbal but man are they verbal!

Anyway, Hope has indeed become a very loved new member of our family and I just wanted to share her happy ending with you and her newest picture!

What a fun session!! These little ones were giant bundles of energy and were a blast to photograph. We had a wonderful time with them and were able to capture some really great images. We created a beautiful coffee table book with some of the images for Grandpa to have in his office.

The story...of Hope

This past Monday night, our youngest daughter, who works at the hospital here in Tipton, called to say she had found a young cat wandering in the parking lot. It was dark and cold out and starting to rain, the cat was hurt and oh yes, she had given it a name, she was calling it Pookie.

She said the cat was very friendly but very skinny and would not put any weight on its back right leg. I tried to get in touch with a friend who works with the Humane Society but she wasn't home so we told Jess to bring the cat home, we'd put it in a cat carrier and call in the morning.

We found out on Tuesday morning that the Tipton Humane Society was already overwhelmed with cats and were advised we could drop the cat off at the Kokomo Humane Society. Seeing as how she was hurt, we knew they would just put her to sleep and we instantly knew we couldn't do that.

So, we called and made her a vet appt for Tuesday afternoon. Pookie was indeed a very friendly cat and incredibly skinny. We could feel every vertebrae in her spine! I don't know how long she had been without food but she was definitely making up for lost time. We had to wonder if she had been someones pet as she already knew how to use a litter box. I swear you could hear her purr in the other room, it was so loud!

The vet said she was a very sick kitty, weighed only 4 pounds with a temperature of 107. Severely dehydrated and looked like she had been attacked, possibly by a male tom cat. The vet pumped her full of fluids and antibiotics and sent us home not sure if she was going to make it or not.

While we were waiting in the vets office, Scott was holding the carrier on his lap and petting the cat. He had refused to call her Pookie so I asked if he had come up with a new name yet.

He said, I believe I have. I think we should call her....Hope. Now at least, she has some.

I am very happy to say that Hope is doing better. We took her back to the vet on Wednesday and her temperature was down to 103. She was still dehydrated so Doc gave her more fluids, checked her wounds again and she is starting to bear weight on her back leg. She is not out of the woods yet but she is getting better. We go back again on Saturday morning and I hope to see that she has put on a little weight.

I have included a couple pictures of Hope that I took on Tuesday night. I'll keep you posted on how she's doing!

Tipton High School Afterprom!!

Scott and I had a great time photographing the Tipton High School Afterprom again this year! The Afterprom was held at the Stardust bowling alley in Noblesville for the 2nd year in a row and the kids seemed to have a great time. I actually made it upstairs this year to see the glow in the dark putt putt course. Wow, is that thing cool!

This years prom theme was City Lights, so we thought we'd do a fun play on that with Back Alley Grunge. Everyone loved it!

I will say, 3am just seems to get later and later every year. LOL!

Dispelling a rumor!!

Looks like it's that time again! It seems like every couple years a rumor gets started that we are closing our doors. Scott was asked just yesterday morning "if it was true, that we were no longer going to be taking pictures"?

Lol, no that is definitely not true! Don't know who and don't know why these rumors get started, but our doors are not closing and we are gearing up for another busy year full of seniors, families, children and weddings!

The one that bothered me the most was when someone started the rumor a few years ago and had Scott dying of cancer! Wow, really...must you go there! People seriously need another hobby.

We would like to thank our clients and friends who bring these rumors to our attention so that we can assure people they are not true. We love what we do and plan to continue for many, many, many years to come!

Tipton Middle School Valentine Dance!

Scott and I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph the Tipton Middle School Valentine Dance again this year! It is always so much fun to see the kids all dressed up and having a great time.

I'm afraid I was showing my age however, because I kept thinking about "how loud the music was" and "oh my, they really need to turn it down or these kids are going to have hearing loss"! LOL!

Yikes, I've turned into my mother!

However loud the music was, the kids all seemed to have a great time dancing and being with their friends. Scott and I would like to thank TMS for asking us to photograph the dance again. We had a great time and we hope to be able to photograph the dance again next year!

Just had to post some images from Jace's recent 3 month session. Talk about a little sweetheart! With his beautiful blue eyes and sweet, sweet grin, he is a dream to photograph!

I am so happy he is in our Baby Step program because we will be able to photograph him again at 6 months, 9 months and 1 year. We have so much with all the babies and love to create wonderful images for the moms and dads!

Runnar!

I thought I would post a few images from a recent newborn session. Runnar is an absolutely adorable little guy! He stayed asleep for a good part of his session but we were also able to get a few of him wide awake being held by daddy.

He looks sooo much like his older brother Rylee, the same big beautiful eyes and dark hair. I'm excited to see if Runnar's hair will be curly like his big brother or stay straight.

Karter!

We were lucky enough to be able to photograph Karter from the time he was three months old. We just finished his one year session recently and can't believe he is that old already! Karter is a wonderful little boy, so full of energy and love. He always gives us tons of smiles and those eyes of his! Gorgeous!!

Christmas break!

The studio will be closed from Saturday, December 25th through Sunday, January 2nd. We are taking a little time off to spend some fun time with our girls!

I can hardly believe that another year is almost gone, it seems to go faster each year! Scott and I would like to thank all of our clients for allowing us to have a small part in their lives.

We have greatly enjoyed creating images that reflect beautiful moments that you never want to forget.

Thank you to the Bride's and Groom's for letting us be a part of your amazing day. Even after all the weddings we have photographed over the past 15 years, every one is still so special and so unique. I still can't help but tear up during the ceremony, I'm such a softy!

Thank you to the Parents for allowing us photograph your sons and daughters. It has been amazing to watch them grow throughout the year and discover their own unique personality. Our girls are almost grown (one in college and one a high school junior) and I dearly love when the babies, who we come to consider "our babies" over the course of the year, come into the studio. It allows us to experience the joy of a baby all over again.

Thank you to the Families for choosing us to photograph your wonderful family. Some families are traditional, some are more laid back and some are just downright silly. Every one of the families was different and fun and we loved photographing you all.

Thank you to the High School Seniors for choosing us for your senior sessions. Scott loves to provide every senior with an incredibly fun experience and awesome senior images. Each year Scott creates great new scenes to keep things fresh and cool and he is already hard at work on next year's ideas.

Beck's Christmas Extravaganza!

Scott and I had a wonderful night at this years Beck's Christmas Extravaganza recently. We photographed almost 200 couples during the evening. Beck's always puts together a great event and this year was no exception.

The ballroom and our area smelled amazing from the live Christmas trees that were placed everywhere. Even though the weather outside was awful, everyone was having a great time indoors!

We want to thank Beck's Hybrid for asking us to photograph their Christmas Extravaganza again this year. It is always a lot of fun working with them!

Several clients have asked about the scene choices for our upcoming Fall Family Special this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 4th, 5th & 6th so I thought I would blog them!

We have a traditional scene, two contemporary scenes and a Christmas scene. We will also have an outdoor scene you can choose, weather permitting.

If you haven't scheduled your session yet, you still have time, but not much (LOL). We have only a few appointment times still available.

Halloween!

Wow, I can't believe Halloween is this Sunday! Man, this entire month has just flown by. Usually on Halloween, we are still in the studio when Trick or Treating starts. We always make sure we have lots of candy on hand when the kids stop in the studio.

This year, with the holiday falling on Sunday, we will not be in the studio. However, we will be right next door at home! Be sure to stop by and bring the kids!!
I love living on Main Street! In addition to a lot of our clients stopping by with their kids, we get alot of the neighborhood kids too!

Can't wait to see what cute costumes everyone is wearing this year!!

Posting the blog early because, Oh my gosh, I am so excited!! I don't know how many of you watch the TV show Glee, but we love it in my house. We watch it together as a family, yep even Scott!

Tonight's episode is going To...Be...So...Cool! The cast is performing the music from the Rocky Horror Picture Show!! Yea!!!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show definitely takes me back to my college days. I was living in Indy while attending school and there was a theater close by that would show Rocky Horror on Friday nights at midnight. Too cool! Kids would dress up as characters from the movie to go and watch the movie.

It was nothing to see the entire audience get up and sing and dance the musical numbers during the show. Ah, the good ol days! When I told my daughters, they both looked at me like I had lost what little was left of my mind. Ok, so maybe looking back on it, it was a bit on the dorky side, but hey, at the time, we thought we were the coolest!

So I hope you enjoy the show tonight, I know we will!

We just finished photographing Abram's 1 year session and I couldn't wait to create his video! He is one of the cutest little guys ever. Those dimples, that hair, those eyes!!

We were lucky enough to also photograph Abrams's older brother Cambrion's first year as well. You'll get to see big brother in the video!

Scott and I have had so much fun with Abram this past year, I can't believe it has been that long already.

3rd Annual Trash The Dress Charity Event!!

It's time for our 3rd Annual Trash The Dress Event!!

We are teaming up again this year with another photographer from Indianapolis. This year's event will be held on October 3rd from 3:00pm until 7:30pm.

We and the other photographer are providing a complimentary Trash The Dress Session and all proceeds from the portrait sales will be donated to charity. All proceeds from this charity event will be donated to a local husband and father of three little children in his fight against Lupus.

There is no session fee for the Trash The Dress Event and special pricing has been created.

A beautiful location has been chosen for this event and will be disclosed only to those who have signed up to join in the fun. If you would like to take part in what is sure to be an incredibly fun day and also benefit charity, please give us a call at 765-675-6415.

Beck's Field Days 2010!

We had a great time at the Beck's Field Days again this year! It is always three days of fun and packed with people. We went with an Americana theme and Scott photographed 200 families this year. Wow, were we hopping!

You couldn't have asked for better weather this year and the folks at the Field Days were certainly enjoying it.

Scott and I will be attending the upcoming North Central Indiana Babyfest, "Mommy 2 be and Baby Fair" on August 21st and they provided us with five free admission tickets.

Billboard

Check it out!!! Andrew, who is one of our seniors, graduated from Western this year and will be attending IUK this fall. IUK has a new billboard campaign and Andrew was chosen to be on it! The university requested the use of one of Andrew's senior images for the billboard and of course we said yes.

The billboard looks really cool! If you happen to be driving on State Road 26, look for it at the intersection of 26 & 400 W. It is on the north side of the road facing east.

Tipton Girls Softball 8U State Tourney Champs!

Scott and I were lucky enough to be able to watch our niece play in the girls softball 8U state tourney recently. I was only able to make it to two of the games, but they were awesome! The final game was a real nail-biter until the girls scored several runs in one inning.

The girls had to play seven games in four days time and I'm sure they were exhausted. You couldn't tell it though, they played hard every game. What made it even cooler was our niece caught the fly ball that resulted in game winning out! The final score was Tipton 7, Liberty Rec 4.

Scott had an amazing time recently when he photographed two of our clients absolutely beautiful horses. I was bummed when I found that I wouldn't be able to attend the session, especially when I saw the images! The momma horse and her foal were so sweet together. The foal had tons of energy, just like a kid, he was running everywhere! LOL!

Recent session with Karter!

We had an amazingly fun session recently with Karter!

He came in for his 6 month step in our Baby Steps Program and he was all smiles that day. I love, love, loved the orange shirt that Grandma brought for him to wear and we captured some adorable nakey images too!

Can't wait to see Karter again when he comes back in for his 9 month session. We've got some really fun things to try with him.

It always amazes me how fast a year goes by. It seems like yesterday that Jack came into the studio for his newborn session. He is an amazing little guy who has been through so much in such a short time but always has a smile for us.

Scott and I had an awesome time photographing the Tipton High School Afterprom again this year. We would like to thank the Junior Class parents for asking us to photograph the event!

The kids seemed to have a great time at the Stardust bowl, there were lots of fun things to do. We hadn't been there since they had remodeled, it is pretty darn neat! Love the cosmic bowling.

The studio will be closed from Saturday, December 26th through Friday, January 1st. We are taking a week off to spend some fun time with our girls!

Another year is almost gone, it is just amazing how fast time flies! Scott and I would like to thank all of our clients for allowing us to have a small part in their lives. We have greatly enjoyed creating images that reflect beautiful moments that you never want to forget.

Thank you to the Bride's and Groom's for letting us be a part of your amazing day. Every wedding had so many special moments (and I cried at almost every one).

Thank you to the Parents for allowing us photograph your sons and daughters. It has been amazing to watch them grow throughout the year and discover their own unique personality. Our girl's are almost grown and I dearly love when "our babies" come into the studio. It allows us to experience the joy of a baby all over again.

Thank you to the Families for choosing us to photograph your wonderful family. Some families are traditional, some are more laid back and some are just downright silly. Every one of the families was different and fun and we loved photographing you all.

We had the pleasure of photographing the 2009 Beck's Christmas Extravaganza again recently! This year's theme was "A Country Christmas" and the hotel was decorated beautifully. There were tons of live evergreen trees and the smell was fantastic!

The evening just flew, it was so hard to believe we actually photographed 162 couples in the time we were there. Thank you again to everyone at Beck's Hybrid for asking us to photograph your Christmas Extravaganza!

We had another great turnout for our 2nd Trash The Dress Charity Event of 2009. The day was absolutely beautiful even though the water was juusst a wee bit chilly. All proceeds from the sale of the Trash The Dress Event images will go directly to Operation Smile.

Operation Smile is a children's charity with a network of volunteers working worldwide to repair childhood facial deformities including cleft lips and cleft palates.

Annual Fall Conference

What an amazing time we had this past weekend at Spring Mill State Park! Our annual Indianapolis Professional Photographers Guild Fall Conference was held at Spring Mill this year. We have a great time at the conference each year, attending classes and sharing with other photographers from Indiana.

Scott was asked by the Guild this year to teach a class on wedding photography. He actually taught two classes, so many people attended that they split them into two groups. We asked Cheyanna, one of our senior's, to model for us and she did a great job!

Meet Lenny!

A lot of our clients have already met our "studio mascot" but I thought I would introduce Lenny to those of you who haven't had the chance yet! Lenny, as I have named him/her just showed up one day about 6 months ago at the studio front door and never really left.

He/she (i'm not checking) visits a few other homes in our neighborhood and shares his love equally. Shares it so well, he/she has food and water provided by each person! LOL!

Lenny loves to have his head rubbed right behind his ears and he has a very special way of letting you know that he doesn't want you to stop! He is quite fearless and just loves to tease the dogs when our clients bring them for their sessions.

Say hi to Lenny the next time you stop by the studio, just watch out for his "love taps"!!

Scott and I decided it would be fun to have a Free Wednesday for our clients. Every few weeks we will list an item or service that is free to the first person to contact us.

This Wednesday we are offering a Custom Wood Baby Frame which holds a 4x6 photograph. If you or someone you know is expecting or has recently had a baby, this would be a great item to have! It's time for our 2nd Annual Trash The Dress Event!! We are teaming up again this year with another photographer from Indianapolis. This year's event will be held on July 26th from 4:30pm until 7:30pm.

All proceeds from this charity event will be donated to Operation Smile. Operation Smile volunteers work worldwide to repair childhood facial deformities.

Spotlight on Anna!!

It is time to introduce another of our Senior Reps for the Class of 2010!! This week we are spotlighting Anna!

After graduation, Anna plans to attend IUK where she will study to become a nurse. During the summer, Anna works as a lifeguard at Kokomo Beach and during the school year at Coney Island. In her free time, she likes to swim.

Anna has two cute dogs, a toy poodle named Chloe and a Chihuahua named Rhorie! Anna loves all kinds of music and her favorite movie is Grandma's Boy. Anna also has a twin brother named Pete - you met him last week!

Anna is great fun with a big sense of adventure (she wants to go skydiving!). We are really looking forward to when she comes in for her full senior session.

Spotlight on Pete!

It is time to introduce another of our Senior Reps for the Class of 2010!! This week we are spotlighting Pete!

After Pete graduates, he plans to attend Ivy Tech with plans to become an electrician. In his free time, he likes to drive his Honda Del Sol and listen to music as well as hang out with friends, play disc golf, basketball and tennis.

He has two dogs named Chloe and Rhorie and works at Mike's Express Car Wash. He will be taking some time off from work this summer to go to Florida with some friends! Pete also has a twin sister named Anna who is also one of our reps. (you will get to meet her next week)

Pete is a really great guy and we are very excited to have him as one of our senior reps!
